SHANGHAI, China – November 1, 2022 – Avient today announced the addition of new high-impact polypropylene (PP) based grades to its Gravi-Tech™ density modified portfolio. Avient’s portfolio of Gravi-Tech materials combine the aesthetics of metals with the superior processability of polypropylene (PP), acrylic butadiene styrene (ABS), polyamide (PA), polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and other thermoplastic materials.

Common examples are polypropylene (PP), nylon (PA), polyketone (PK), and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). Examples of semi-crystalline polymers are PP, polyethylene (PE), PA6, PA66, polyphthalamide (PPA), polybutylene/polyethylene terephthalate (PBT/PET), polyoxymethylene (POM) or acetal, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and polyether ether ketone (PEEK).

Suitable for overmolding onto polypropylene (PP), the new TPEs have comparable performance to prime grades, and can replace them in typical applications for lawn and garden, outdoor high performance, personal care, footwear, office supplies, houseware durables, and automotive industries.  In Asia, an expanded reSound R range now includes three PIR grades for PC, ABS, and PC/ABS overmolding and seven PCR grades for overmolding on to PP.

This new reSound REC TPE is a 65 Shore A hardness and contains 25 percent PCR content from recycled polypropylene (PP). It is naturally gray, colorable, and suitable for injection molding or overmolding onto PP.

The portfolio includes typical glow hues like yellowish green, blue, blue-green, aqua, and violet for a wide range of polymers, including PP, ABS, PC co-polyester, PA6, PA66, and PA12. PP Inhaler Roll Cap
