Automotive Windshields to Post-Consumer Recycled Content TPEs
These injection moldable TPEs can be overmolded to polypropylene (PP) and come in a natural grade that can be easily colored.
These new TPEs contain 25 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) content from PVB reclaimed from broken automotive windshields and laminated architectural glass.

Sustainable TPEs from Avient Featured at SPE TPO Conference
During the conference, Christopher Engel, advanced research & development engineer at Avient, will be giving a presentation on exploring bio-based thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) in automotive applications.
Made from renewable sources, materials like reSound™ BIO formulations help reduce carbon footprint and can perform like traditional TPEs.

TPE Quick Facts
• How are TPEs made?
TPEs:
The Basics
What are TPEs?
To help you identify
the right materials for your product, they will need to know:
1. the kind of environment in which your product will be used
2. what kind of properties you need (e.g., stretchy, hard or soft, color)
Is TPE the best material for my products?

TPEs vs.
One caveat: Typical TPE shrinkage is around 2% while that of substrate materials
is closer to 1%.
When looking to incorporate sustainable content into your TPE, the raw
material cost may be more expensive than traditional materials for three
reasons 1) supply chain maturity, 2) high demand, low supply, 3) location
of source and supplier.

healthcare industry meet an anticipated capacity
crunch:

TPEs can also be reprocessed and made into different products.
