They are based on management’s expectations that involve a number of business risks and uncertainties, any of which could cause actual
results to differ materially from those expressed in or implied by the forward-looking statements.
Factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those implied by these forward-looking statements include, but are not limited to:
Our ability to realize anticipated savings and operational benefits from the realignment of assets, including the closure of manufacturing facilities;
The timing of closings and shifts of production to new facilities related to asset realignments and any unforeseen loss of customers and/or disruptions of
service or quality caused by such closings and/or production shifts;
Separation and severance amounts that differ from original estimates;
Amounts for non-cash charges related to asset write-offs and accelerated depreciation realignments of property, plant and equipment, that differ from
original estimates;
Our ability to identify and evaluate acquisition targets and consummate acquisitions;
The ability to successfully integrate acquired companies into our operations, retain the management teams of acquired companies, retain relationships
with customers of acquired companies, and achieve the expected results of such acquisitions, including whether such businesses will be accretive to our
earnings;
Disruptions, uncertainty or volatility in the credit markets that could adversely impact the availability of credit already arranged and the availability and
cost of credit in the future;
The financial condition of our customers, including the ability of customers (especially those that may be highly leveraged and those with inadequate
liquidity) to maintain their credit availability;
The strength and timing of economic recoveries;
Our ability to achieve new business gains;
The effect on foreign operations of currency fluctuations, tariffs and other political, economic and regulatory risks;
Changes in polymer consumption growth rates and laws and regulations regarding the disposal of plastic in jurisdictions where we conduct business;
Changes in global industry capacity or in the rate at which anticipated changes in industry capacity come online;
Fluctuations in raw material prices, quality and supply and in energy prices and supply; production outages or material costs associated with scheduled
or unscheduled maintenance programs;
Unanticipated developments that could occur with respect to contingencies such as litigation and environmental matters;
An inability to achieve or delays in achieving or achievement of less than the anticipated financial benefit from initiatives related to working capital
reductions, cost reductions and employee productivity goals;
Information systems failures and cyber attacks;
An inability to maintain appropriate relations with unions and employees;
Our ability to continue to pay regular cash dividends and the amounts and timing of any future dividends;
The amount and timing of repurchases of our common shares, if any; and
Other factors affecting our business beyond our control, including, without limitation, changes in the general economy, changes in interest rates and
changes in the rate of inflation.
The above list of factors is not exhaustive.
We undertake no obligation to publicly update forward-looking statements, whether as a result of new information, future events or otherwise.

CLEVELAND – April 30, 2021 – Avient Corporation (NYSE: AVNT), a leading provider of
specialized and sustainable material solutions, today reported its first quarter results for 2021.
The Specialty Engineered Materials segment also achieved its highest-ever quarterly operating
income at $34 million, a 53% increase over the prior year.
Examples include:
• Barrier technologies that preserve the shelf-life and quality of food, beverages, medicine
and other perishable goods through high-performance materials that require less plastic
• Light-weighting solutions that replace heavier traditional materials like metal, glass and
wood, which can improve fuel efficiency in all modes of transportation
• Breakthrough technologies that minimize wastewater and improve the recyclability of
materials and packaging across a spectrum of end uses
Avient employs approximately 8,400 associates and is certified ACC Responsible Care®, a
founding member of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and certified Great Place to Work®.

This unique material is at
the heart of every product it makes.
THE SOLUTION
The team at Rolatube had a few non-negotiable
performance requirements when considering composite
material options for the tripod legs.
When deployed, the composite material
quickly unrolls to form rigid tubes that are strong,
stable, rugged, and weatherproof—providing the
ultimate user experience even in extreme conditions.

These high-performing materials deliver high-
temperature performance, mechanical integrity,
and excellent impact resistance for demanding
engine applications.
These robust materials also
incorporate heat stabilization to maintain tensile
strength and tensile elongation properties for long-
term thermal aging up to 120°C.
Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.

A challenge faced when coloring PCR resins include
recyclate materials with an undertone or opacity
that can restrict color options in PET, rPET and rPP.
Lightest colored recycled materials are therefore
in high demand for all applications, limiting
market availability.
Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.

Density is measured in grams per cubic centimeters
(g/cc) with every 0.01 g/cc reduction resulting in less
material used.
A decrease in density of just 0.01–0.02 g/cc
can yield 4% annual savings in material consumption,
while generating a 4% increase in extruder productivity.
For example, in several instances processors ran Excelite
E-versions, which allowed longer production run times
and less material plate-out on extruder die lips.

OEMs and tier-one suppliers
strive to reduce vehicle weight and incorporate
more recycled materials into parts.
Plus, they can support OEMs in
complying with the ELV Directive targets for
incorporating recycled materials.
Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.
