In 2015, PolyOne determined it would close two manufacturing facilities within the Designed Structures and
Solutions segment to right size operations as a result of declining operating results and near term outlook.
The fair value of the reporting unit
is based on a number of subjective
factors including: (a) appropriate
consideration of valuation approaches,
(b) the consideration of our business
outlook for fiscal 2017 and beyond and
(c) weighted average cost of capital
(discount rate), growth rates and
market multiples for our estimated
cash flows
These actions were taken as a result of Designed
Structures and Solutions' declining results and near term outlook.
