Available as a granular masterbatch for injection molding, thermoforming or extrusion, these new additives offer superior performance for most clear polymers, including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC), polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polystyrene (PS).

These natural fiber-filled solutions can be processed on standard machinery and tooling at low injection molding temperatures and short cycle times, and will complement the advanced long and short fiber solutions in PolyOne’s current portfolio.

This can occur due to improper injection molding conditions or the incompatibility of a TPE or vulcanized silicone material with certain additives.

The injection-moldable Versaflex™ HC 3810 series is formulated without animal derivatives and offers a wide range of durometers to serve a variety of medical device applications.

Its design team determined the need for a soft-touch material with strong chemical resistance and color stability for the mouse grip.  Based on earlier successful projects, the OEM design team turned to Avient for a selection of suitable thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). For the mouse feet, Avient formulated a special grade of LubriOne™ filled acetal as an improvement over the neat acetal found in traditional designs.
