Adapter made from TPEs helps consumers avoid overmedicating
The shell would be made with a custom-formulated Synprene™ thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) blend that provides resistance to most common medications and is flexible enough for the fins to work as designed.
The membrane would be made from a custom-engineered GLS™ Dynaflex™ TPE overmolded onto the shell.

CLEVELAND – November 5, 2018 – PolyOne today announced that its specialty vibration damping Versaflex™ VDT TPEs are being selected by major appliance manufacturers as a valuable solution to vibration issues in top load washing machines.
In an experiment completed by this customers’ design team, switching to Versaflex VDT TPE reduced vibration of the appliance by 80 percent versus TPV,” said Michelle Hearn, global marketing director, Specialty Engineered Materials at PolyOne.
To help customers learn more about using Versaflex VDT TPE materials to mitigate vibration, PolyOne recently published this Smart Materials™ Vibration and Sound eBook.

The Good Duck is marketed as PVC free, phthalate free and BHA free, and also features two PolyOne technologies: customized GLS™ TPE materials and OnColor™ colorants.
PolyOne developed an ultra-soft version of its GLS™ TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) approved for food contact and medical applications, and included non-toxic PolyOne colorants.
The Good Duck™ is blow-molded from an ultra-soft TPE and uses non-toxic molded-in colorants from PolyOne.
