The Solution With these key goals set, Kalas reached out to Avient, which had been supplying lead-stabilized vinyl compounds for wire and cable jacketing for a number of years.  In addition to developing the right materials, the teams worked closely to transition all aspects of manufacturing using the new materials.

Special items for the third quarter of 2022 had an ($0.75) impact on EPS and included acquisition-related costs that primarily consist of financing commitment fees, inventory step-up adjustments and settlement of foreign currency contracts used to hedge a portion of the DSM Protective Materials (now Avient Protective Materials or APM) acquisition purchase price.
