SHANGHAI – March 31, 2017 – PolyOne today announced the Chinese launch of non-phthalate Wilflex™ EPIC™ Rio, a new color mixing system for screen-printing textile inks.
Unlike water-based inks, plastisol-based EPIC Rio ink does not dry in screens during production, and can also be left in screens overnight, saving printers’ time on clean-up and set-up during shift changes.
In addition, designers can add more colors to their graphics without using larger screen presses for a cost effective solution.

The company foresaw that integrating this step into the molding process for the saw housing would cut assembly time and overall costs.
However, before making a change involving investment in new tooling and processing expertise, the company wanted to be confident that the solution would make sense from an economic perspective.
While pleased with the material’s performance, the company still needed to verify that a substantial investment in overmolding – including tooling and testing – would pay off in lower system costs.
