The high-speed manufacture of thin-wall wire jacketing would require a distinctly different formulation compared to the extrusion of a large cross-section stock shape such as a rod. In contrast, rod extrusion would require very stable pigments due to the longer residence time in the extruder.  

Stagg connected with PolyOne for help with tough UL standard testing approvals and light dispersion issues in their initial design, problems that would jeopardize a planned 2016 product launch schedule. PolyOne’s team worked with engineers at Halo Smart Labs to incorporate two Resilience LS materials that would meet tough UL flame requirements and improve light distribution without disrupting the initial design parameters.

To better evaluate how to protect plastic parts from microbial attack, Avient conducted a study to screen a variety of plastic substrates for susceptibility using American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) G21 (fungi susceptibility), Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) Z2801, and modified ASTM E1428-15a (bacterial susceptibility) test standards.
