POMMERLOCH, Luxembourg – February 28, 2024 – Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable materials solutions and services, is pleased to announce it is extending its Gravi-Tech™ REC Recycled Formulations portfolio with a grade containing up to 60% ocean-bound plastic waste in addition to recycled fillers, making the total recycled content as high as 98%. Gravi-Tech REC formulations enable visual surface effects and aesthetics, including electroplated metallic finish, cool touch, and color variation. Additional food contact-compliant formulations are also available as part of the broader Gravi-Tech REC portfolio.    

This is the third site in addition to Avient’s list of GRS 4.0 sites, including in the Chinese cities of Suzhou and Shenzhen. We provide customers with additives, scavengers, and toners that improve the quality of recycled PET. It also minimizes the color and haze challenges due to inconsistencies in rPET quality, in fact, bottles produced with ColorMatrix™ Amosorb™ 4020R, in combination with rPET content, show minimal colour degradation when processed through existing recycle streams. Avient’s additives can improve processability during the bottle blowing phase and improve the mechanical strength of bottles.
