Maxxam™ FR formulations met stringent UL 444 standards and saved costs for a major wire & cable producer

Adding to the value of the solution, Avient provided a methodology to quantify projected savings and calculate ROI, giving the customer confidence to make a significant investment in new tooling. With the Avient material, the manufacturer is expected to save $122,000 per year vs. silicone. Even after the cost of the new tooling, the company will save about $72,000 the first year, an impressive and rapid return on the investment in new tooling.

As a result of the system-based cost savings and improved supply reliability, the manufacturer made the decision to proceed with the Avient solution. Cost savings: The hose manufacturer is saving $33,000 per year by using Versalloy TPV instead of its previous material. These savings resulted from lower specific gravity of the Avient material (0.88 compared to 0.95) and a 50% reduction in scrap rate.
