PARIS – January 20, 2026 – Avient Corporation, an innovator of materials solutions, will highlight recently developed functional additives, including solutions formulated without intentionally added per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (non-PFAS), and ISCC PLUS-certified bio-based polymer solutions at Pharmapack 2026 this week, addressing the growing demand for compliant and sustainable medical plastics. This includes: 

Recent Expansions to the Mevopur™ Healthcare Functional Additives Portfolio

• Non-PFAS processing aids for medical tubes and films: Avient’s newest additions to its Mevopur™ Healthcare Functional Additives portfolio include non-PFAS processing aids for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and low-linear-density polyethylene (LLDPE). These non-fluorinated alternatives can help reduce common processing issues such as die build-up, melt fracture, and shark skin in extruded tube and film applications, including catheters and pharmaceutical packaging, while maintaining performance levels on par with conventional processing aids that use fluorinated substances.
• Non-PFAS low-retention additive for pipette tips: The recently launched Mevopur™ non-PFAS low-retention additive for polypropylene pipette tips features an efficient hydrophobic system that enables excellent fluid release, supporting repeatable, precise laboratory testing. Developed and manufactured under a holistic change control program, the ready-to-use compound includes raw materials pre-tested to ISO, USP, and ICH Q3D protocols.  
• Slip/antiblock additive for PET and PETG films: Avient’s slip/antiblock solution targets polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) films used in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical blisters and medical device packaging. The additive masterbatch can efficiently reduce the coefficient of friction of films used in healthcare applications, enabling easier handling during assembly and use of end products while manufactured under the risk mitigation and stringent change control standards for Mevopur additives.

Bio-Based Polymer Solutions and ISCC PLUS Certification
Avient’s Mevopur™ Healthcare Bio-based Polymer Solutions portfolio offers color and additive masterbatches and ready-to-use compounds formulated with bio-derived materials, including polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and styrenic polymers. 

Three Avient manufacturing sites in Malmö, Sweden, Taoyuan, Taiwan, and Jurong, Singapore, have received International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS accreditation, demonstrating that the Mevopur polymer solutions manufactured at these sites use a mass balance chain-of-custody approach with reliable traceability and identification of feedstock sources.
