Hoffman noted that before selecting the Versaflex material, GOBIE evaluated more than 40 different materials, including rubber, along with methods such as bonding and ultrasonic welding. Striving for optimal results, the manufacturer evaluated more than 30 different materials.    The Avient material met the targeted cost and performance targets Avient’s solution was a unique, nylon-based material that met the all of the application’s performance requirements.

These bio-based materials can be processed on standard injection-molding machines and extruders and can be recycled in the same recycling channels as conventional fossil-based polymers.
