The new color and additive concentrates and tailored ready-to-use formulations are made with bio-based polycarbonate, ABS, or styrenic polymers. Along with pre-colored formulations for users who prefer ready-to-use solutions, they are more sustainable drop-in replacements for fossil-based materials. Like other Mevopur formulations, they are produced in dedicated facilities according to ISO 13485-2016 protocols and supported by testing to ISO 10993-1, USP, European Pharmacopeia and ICH Q3D guidelines.

Formulated without fluoropolymers, which may be classifiable as per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS), it reduces friction between the polymer and the metal during extrusion, allowing the polymer to be more easily extruded. Like other Mevopur products, the bio-based polymer solutions are formulated with raw materials pre-tested to ISO, USP, EP, and ICH Q3D protocols, supporting their compliance with safety and regulatory requirements for use in healthcare.   In Europe, Mevopur concentrates and ready-to-use formulations are manufactured in the ISO 13485-2016 certified site of Malmö, Sweden.

NEW PTFE-Free LubriOne™ Internally Lubricated Formulations - These grades extend Avient’s LubriOne™ Formulations portfolio and are made without fluorinated lubricants such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). It helps bring incompatible polymers, such as PP and PE, together by forming them into a homogenous polymer mixture that increases mechanical properties based on polymer modification (link to full press release above). The colored grades feature BASF’s Ultrason® polyarylethersulfones (PAES) as a high-quality base polymer combined with Avient’s Colorant Chromatics™ high-temperature color formulation expertise for color concentrates and pre-colored solutions.
