THE IMPACT
Avient’s expertise in materials for medical device
applications helped this customer make a smooth
transition to the GLS TPV.
These savings resulted from lower specific
gravity of the Avient material (0.88 compared to 0.95)
and a 50% reduction in scrap rate.

exact requirements for color and duration.
The Avient material is better suited to the etching process

its ability to more accurately predict part performance,
Avient worked with Hexagon’s Digimat platform.
Once the calibration procedure was complete, Avient
applied this Digimat material model to various structural
models.
Avient and Hexagon used Digimat to develop anisotropic
long fibre material data for a molded connector rod.
