Avient will showcase its colorants and additives, cross-linkable formulations, ultraviolet (UV) laser marking solutions, high-performance engineered fiber, chemical foaming solutions, and flame-retardant materials.

They can be filled and reinforced or blended with glass, minerals, impact modifiers, colorants, and stabilizer systems to satisfy the required performance characteristics, including flame retardant performance.    

POMMERLOCH, Luxembourg – December 11, 2023 – Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable material solutions and services, today announced the addition of a new grade to its ECCOH™ Low Smoke and Fume Non-Halogen Formulations portfolio.

Additionally, ECCOH™ low smoke and fume non-halogen materials are well suited for fiber optics and communication cables; and Fiber-Line™ Swellcoat™ water blocking yarns enable cable designers to reduce cable footprint with higher fiber count cables for increased data transmission capabilities.

The manufacturer was struggling to find a replacement material with excellent chemical resistance and a high flame retardant rating. From there, the Avient team identified material options that offered high flame retardancy and finally, requirements for processing flexibility and colorability were applied.
