Analysis of raw materials and additives to actively identify and quantify any NIAS or hidden substances is essential to ensure the safety and quality of consumer products.  

Fortunately, there are several kinds of additives that don’t affect future recyclability of PET that can used during processing to correct for this yellowing. Similar to the ones that correct yellowing, there are special additives that “scavenge” or otherwise reduce the levels of acetaldehyde.
