Clark joined Avient in 2024 from Nouryon, a global specialty chemicals organization where he served as Chief Technology Officer. He holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry from Harvard University in Massachusetts and a Bachelor’s degree with a dual major in Chemistry and Biology from Bates College in Maine.

From 2019–2024 he served as Global Vice President for the $1.2B Abrasive Systems Division of 3M’s Safety and Industrial business group. Irwin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P.
