THE CHALLENGE A leading manufacturer of data cables in Zhuhai, China, ran into a serious challenge. Finding suppliers of fluoropolymer color and additive masterbatches able to meet its standards has not always been easy. The challenge arose when the company began working with a local supplier, in an effort to keep logistics easy to manage.

Partnering with our suppliers to enhance the eco-efficiency of our supply chain Continuous improvement efforts led Avient to initiate a targeted assessment of 568 suppliers and our 25 largest customers to assess availability of carbon emissions data and reduction plans. This data is being utilized to define our capabilities to influence these stakeholders and initiate mutually beneficial partnerships.
