https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2020-08/colormatrix-flexcart-overview-2020.pdf
FlexCart metering units are designed with flexibility and functionality
at the core of their design.
THE DESIGN
The basis of a PlanetPak is a robust polyethylene
liner with a proprietary collapsing design,
encompassed by a cardboard outer shell.
Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.
https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2020-07/core-powder-coatings-in-luxury-vehicles-case-study.pdf
One major automotive supplier, however,
questioned the norm when designing the interiors for
a major automaker’s new vehicle model.
THE SOLUTION
The supplier’s design team approached Avient in
hopes of finding an alternative material that could
replace leather yet eliminate processing issues.
Our
design team created a formulation modified for the
supplier’s specific processing environment.
https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2023-06/AVIENT_TPEs and LSR eBook.pdf
When
designing TPE parts, strive to keep the part wall thicknesses as uniform as
possible and radius all sharp corners.
LSR is a thermoset material.
FLEXIBLE
WEATHERABLE
COLORABLE
Selecting the right material for your application can have multiple
nuances, from properties and processing to design and appearance.

Both paperboard and multilayer polymers restrict
design freedom, so the final packaging is often less
than ergonomic.

There are a variety of Avient TPEs designed to have excellent adhesion to a number of rigid plastic substrates for overmolding.
Versaflex™ OM 3060 – Silky clear solution designed for overmolding onto polycarbonate (PC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and PC/ABS blends
PC, ABS and PC/ABS overmolding materials are available in water-clear, natural, thin wall overmolding, and high performance grades.

As PET undergoes multiple remelting cycles, it can break down, suffering from thermal degradation, and resulting in a material of lower quality than its virgin counterpart.
In addition, the importance of simulating the mechanical recycling process to design new additive technologies cannot be overstated.
Designing additives and recycling processes with circularity in mind is essential for the future of sustainable plastic packaging.
