Derived from end-of-life tires, this new color concentrate is a sustainable alternative to those based on virgin carbon black.   OnColor RC Environmental Black is made using Bolder Black®, a reclaimed version of carbon black made from scrap rubber. Using our OnColor RC Environmental Black concentrate helps to prevent tires from entering the waste stream and extends the useful life of the raw materials found in those tires.”

At Packaging of Perfume Cosmetics & Design (PCD, booth #AB17), the company is illustrating the impact of soft-touch TPEs with gold, silver and copper effects and featuring an inspirational portfolio based on the 2017 InVisiOSM Color Inspiration Wanderlust collection from PolyOne Color and Additives.  At PCD, PolyOne is displaying sample plaques and concept packaging molded from five TPEs that feature the Wanderlust color palette from InVisiOSM Color Inspirations 2017.

These new formulations utilize between 40 and 50 percent bio-renewable content derived from sugarcane, and offer hardness levels and performance comparable to standard TPEs. With an opaque natural color, all reSound OM materials can either use traditional TPE colorants or be paired with sustainable colorants from PolyOne. Amber shades are known to be effective in prolonging the shelf life of packaged pharmaceuticals by protecting from degradation caused by UV light. The new MEVOPUR concentrates block wavelengths from 290 – 450 nm, while still providing good transparency. Avient can design these concentrates in a range of amber tones from light to dark, and with more or less red or yellow.
