Replaces Lead with Trilliant™ Radiation Shielding from PolyOne
ANAHEIM, Calif. – PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a premier global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, announced that medical device manufacturer Mecall S.r.l. has replaced lead in radiology equipment with Trilliant™ Radiation Shielding solutions from PolyOne.
At working energy levels, the shielding provided by this Trilliant formulation is higher than lead, according to Mecall, resulting in the collimator operator and patient being better protected from unnecessary exposure to radiation.
