Bio-Based TPEs for Overmolding

reSound™ OM thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) are based on biopolymers derived from sugarcane. The reSound OM portfolio consists of four overmolding grades compatible with rigid polypropylene, and one grade that's suited for overmolding onto ABS. All grades utilize 35 to 50 percent bio-renewable content, and are formulated to deliver varying hardness levels, favorable property retention and UV resistance comparable to traditional TPEs.

With an opaque natural color, all reSound OM materials are easily colorable using traditional TPE colorants to match design specifications. They can also be paired with Avient sustainable color options. During the manufacturing process, production scrap material can be reused.
