Edgetek™ PKE Glass-Filled Polyketone Formulations
The Edgetek PKE series consists of specialty engineered, glass-reinforced polyketone (PK) thermoplastics. Available with 10-40% short glass fiber fillers, these formulations provide excellent chemical resistance, low moisture uptake, excellent dimensional stability, and high impact and wear resistance. These properties offer manufacturers a high-performing, cost-effective and more eco-conscious alternative to nylons (PA66 and PA6).
These grades meet the performance challenges of chemical, fuel contact, and high moisture environment applications found in the industrial, electrical/electronics, and transportation industries. Available in natural and black grades, the Edgetek PKE series can be colored at the press and further customized to meet specific application needs, such as improved UV stability. In addition, the formulations process with similar shrink to nylons, set up quickly, and have short cycle times.
Helping to improve sustainability over the end-product lifecycle, these formulations offer a reduced carbon footprint as a result of the PK base resin. The production of PK emits up to 61 percent less carbon dioxide (CO₂) than nylon (PA66 and PA6).
