If ‘yes’, exact statement of the intent that is included in the facility’s TRA Plan to reduce the creation of the toxic substance at the facility: **
DEHA is a plasticizer and is created in our Orangeville Plasticizer
plant (small quantities) and used as reactant in the formulation
compound in our Orangeville compound site.

This
method has mating plastic threads formed
during assembly.
Solvent
Solvents soften surfaces of plastic (plastic
must be soluble)—best for amorphous or
low crystalline plastics, such as ABS, acrylic,
cellulosic, PC, PS, PPO, and vinyls.
EJECTION
A method of ejection is needed for all plastic
parts, this is due to the shrinkage seen in plastic
parts.

Smartbatch™ FX for Paint Replacement
The replacement of paint on plastic parts with
molded-in color (MIC) has several benefits.
With MIC the incorporation of color with a color
concentrate during the manufacturing of plastic
components reduces the number of processing
steps and complexity.
Since the color is incorporated into the plastic
matrix, it also prevents color peel-off and flaking.

Cesa™ & OnCap™ Anti-blocking Additives
In order to prevent self-adhesion of plastic films or
sheets, anti-blocking additives reduce the surface
coefficient of friction by creating a slightly rougher
or smoother surface.
Cesa™ Stat Additives & OnCap™ Anti-static Additives
Static charges that build up on the surface of plastic
products can attract dust and dirt, cause sheets and
film to cling, and cause stacked products to stick
together.
Cesa™ Nox Additives
Cesa Nox antioxidant solutions help plastics
maintain shine and transparency while preventing
yellowing, surface cracking, and odors often caused
by oxidation and heat aging.

Plastics
In many ways, plastics are a perfect example of why a circular economy is so
important.
If not recycled properly, plastics can ends up in a landfill or, even worse,
the ocean.
Efforts can be made and systems can be built to keep discarded plastic in the
economy to either be upcycled, recycled, reused or composted.

PHTHALATES
IN PLASTICS
KNOWING
THE FACTS
Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to make plastics,
and in particular polyvinyl chloride (PVC), more flexible.
Examples of
common applications include medical tubing, inflatables,
packaging film and sheets, garden hoses, toys and
automotive plastics.
Selected for their strong performance
and durability, phthalates are the most commonly used
plasticizers in the world.1
In recent years, concerns have been raised over the
use of phthalates, giving rise to myths and unfounded
speculation.
