These new orange colorants, developed as part of Avient’s OnColor portfolio, can help improve the heat and long-term color stability of cautionary, orange-colored polymers in both engineering and general-purpose plastics with no or limited adverse effects on mechanical properties or flame retardancy and can also be customized for laser marking (link to full press release here).
They are available across multiple polymer systems, including PA6, PA66, PC, POM, PBT, PPS, and PK, and provide comparable performance to conventional internally lubricated grades (link to full press release here).

In the chart above, you can see the polymer structure of polyketone is very similar to PA6, PA66, and POM, which explains the similarity in properties.
POM is based on polymerized formaldehyde, which makes the polymer sensitive to thermal degradation, releasing formaldehyde gas.
However, as previously mentioned, polyketone is much less hygroscopic than PA6 & PA66 due to the lack of nitrogen in its polymer structure.
