This new technology also reinforces Avient's collaboration with BASF in offering the global market metallic-colored grades of Ultrason® high-performance polymers (link to full press release above).
They are available across multiple polymer systems, including PA6, PA66, PC, POM, PBT, PPS, and PK, and provide comparable performance to conventional internally lubricated grades (link to full press release here).
They support compliance with regulatory standards without compromising performance and provide an alternative to brominated polymers for applications such as housings for appliances.

In the chart above, you can see the polymer structure of polyketone is very similar to PA6, PA66, and POM, which explains the similarity in properties.
POM is based on polymerized formaldehyde, which makes the polymer sensitive to thermal degradation, releasing formaldehyde gas.
However, as previously mentioned, polyketone is much less hygroscopic than PA6 & PA66 due to the lack of nitrogen in its polymer structure.

USP tests are designed to provide information on biological effects of polymer materials used in containers.
Softening/melt temperatures vary with polymer type and grade.
As with other elastomer properties, shrinkage often varies with the direction of polymer flow.
