Composites are inherently lightweight alternatives
to metal and other materials, enabling
sustainability initiatives such as material reduction
and fuel economy improvements in many end
products.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
• Incorporates a minimum of 95% post-consumer
recycled PET resin and 58% glass fiber
• Available in unidirectional tape, 2-layer X-ply™
and 3-layer tri-ply laminates
• Excellent bondability to other materials via
thermal lamination or adhesives
• Impact and corrosion resistant
• Improved carbon footprint vs. traditional
polyester-based composite tape
APPLICATIONS
Recycled content unidirectional tapes and
laminates are well-suited for applications that
benefit from the light weight, high strength,
and impact resistance of continuous glass fiber
reinforced rPET including:
• Commercial vehicles
• Trailers
• Structural automotive applications
• Consumer electronics and accessories
• Outdoor sporting equipment and
adventure gear

Carbon black is mainly used as a reinforcing filler in tires and
other rubber products.
Thus, it has been concluded by IARC and other organizations that
consumer exposures to Carbon Black is negligible.

Benefits include resistance to high temperatures
and corrosion, chemical stability, cost effectiveness
compared to other materials, and heat weldability
to connect different components (e.g. pipes
and fittings).
Avient also offers additive and color concentrates for
other polymer grades and pipe system applications.

However, when active oxygen scavengers and other
additives are used in PET bottle production clarity
can decrease, which negatively impacts product
appearance, customer appeal and brand value.
Our testing shows that
ColorMatrix Amosorb 4020G is one of the most
robust oxygen scavengers for PET rigid containers,
with negligible effect on oxygen scavenging efficacy
for the rPET grade tested, while other competitive
materials lost almost all efficacy with rPET content
as low as 20%.

The FlexCart Mini system can be used with other containers, which
could include Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC).

—materials used for the manufacture of
containers)
• USP (polyethylene—plastic materials of
construction)
• ICH Q3D (elemental impurities)
We provide Drug Master File (Type III) documentation
and other supporting regulatory declarations that
are relevant for the application.
ADDING VALUE TO A WIDE RANGE
OF HEALTHCARE APPLICATIONS
PROVIDING STANDARD AND
CUSTOM COLORANTS & ADDITIVES
STANDARD COLOR RANGES
To speed up time to market, Avient offers a standard
range of colorants using pre-tested raw materials
suitable for a wide range of polymers including
PE, PP, PEBA, PC, and others.
Additionally, other
standard portfolios, such as colors for ophthalmic
closures or white for pharmaceutical packaging,
help fast-track the coloration of specific healthcare
applications.
