The two new formulations for cable jacketing, ECCOH™ 5565 and ECCOH™ 5978 UV expand Avient’s solutions range and can improve the lifetime of cables.
ECCOH 5978 UV formulations combine high flame retardancy (up to CPR class B2ca, s1, a1, d) and good char forming properties with great ESCR.
These formulations also provide excellent UV resistance protecting outdoor/indoor cables from varying weather conditions.

It had to provide temperature and impact resistance, along with UV resistance and anti-oxidation properties to prevent discoloration.
The necessary levels of temperature, impact, UV and oxidation resistance were achieved through stabilizing additives.

With multiple locations in Germany, China and the United States, the supplier needed to reduce the number of steps to save time and money – without sacrificing product quality or resistance to UV radiation.
The concentrates also would provide UV resistance for color that won’t fade.
