There are different chemistries, including formulations that contain phthalates and non-phthalate plasticizers. Strict regulations control the use of plasticizers containing phthalates and some users are now switching to non-phthalate* formulations for the preparation of soft PVC. These concentrates contain a very high pigment load, allowing low addition rates (one percent or lower) and reduce color variation from one resin type to another.

These process aids do not contain siloxanes and are formulated so as not to negatively impact processing or final performance properties. Processors are looking to replace current process additives containing PFAS with non-PFAS fluorine-free solutions that exhibit performance characteristics similar to traditional fluoropolymer- based solutions.
