Our end markets are primarily in transportation, packaging, building and
construction, industrial, healthcare, consumer, wire and cable, electrical and electronics, and appliance.
In the wire and cable industry, thermoplastics serve to protect by providing electrical
insulation, flame resistance, durability, water resistance, and color coding to wire coatings and
connectors.
These increases were partially offset by declines of 2.5% primarily a result of
weakened demand in our North America wire and cable business and in Europe.
