THE SOLUTION The supplier’s design team approached Avient in hopes of finding an alternative material that could replace leather yet eliminate processing issues. THE IMPACT The Avient solution eliminated processing issues the supplier had encountered with competitive materials, such as air entrapment and demolding difficulties.

THE SOLUTION Working with Avient, a long-time supplier and project collaborator, Hoyt engineers explained their performance goals of enhancing accuracy and comfort while maintaining its grip design. They presented Hoyt with a variety of options and suggested Avient’s Versaflex™ soft-touch thermoplastic elastomer as a material solution.

The team then turned to PolyOne in Dongguan, China to see if we could offer a solution. THE SOLUTION Our Dongguan facility was ideally located to provide support to Smart Hero.
