These materials are able to be vacuum metalized or electroplated as well, to reproduce the premium metal finish that leading spirits makers prefer. THE IMPACT The closure producer’s team switched to Gravi-Tech material, and immediately logged a 35% cost savings due to lower material and processing costs. Finding a material that would not compromise the premium quality provided to a leading spirits brand was critical for the closure producer.

These materials increase design flexibility, particularly for 3D antenna designs and complex shapes. In addition, our LDS materials can shorten lead times by supplying materials in just a few weeks to help increase speed to market. Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.

THE IMPACT Avient’s solution was a unique, nylon-based material that met the all of the application’s performance requirements. After evaluating and approving the material’s physical properties, the manufacturer also requested that it was formulated to be flame-retardant. Testing by the manufacturer of the material produced in Asia showed that it per formed identically to that made in the United States.

Tested against commonly used wet grip materials, the Versaflex XP 2850 material demonstrated exceptional wet kinetic COF performance— showing more than a 100% improvement over the competition—and better dry COF performance as well. In addition to enhanced tackiness, this specialty material offers excellent abrasion and UV resistance, plus a skin-safe, non-abrasive finish. Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.
