For LEDs, heat needs to be effectively dissipated to prevent premature failure. The Mars Otomotiv engineering team needed to eliminate all of these issues by finding a different material for the heat sinks.

It also needed to allow soldiers to quickly deploy and establish positions of relative safety – even in remote locations.  It’s portable enough to be airlifted into remote sites and provides quick protection for troops with no additional equipment support needed.
