One of the key properties of thermoplastic elastomers supplied by Avient GLS is hardness. Many rubbers, soft plastics, urethanes and TPE’s are rated on the “Shore A” scale. This is the range where hardness is independent on thickness. 

Novel TPE materials that can overmold onto various engineering plastics also were reported elsewhere (2-4). Experimental Material Two classes of “universal overmolding TPEs” have been developed and used in this study. A 25 mm wide strip of TPE is cut and pulled at a 90o angle toward the substrate using an Instron tensile tester.

APPLICATIONS Avient’s light stabilizers are suitable for PP, PET and PA fibers used in a wide range of applications including carpeting, upholstery, automotive textiles, artificial turf, awnings, marquees, blinds, sunshades, covers, tents, sun loungers and garden furniture.
