If the part requires the use of thick sections, they should be cored out to minimize shrinkage
problems and to reduce the part weight and cycle time.
If the elastomer over-mold is to be
present on both A and B sides of the parts two material molds that shuttled or rotated between mold sections
must be used .Two material molds using moving cores should be used to form a uniform coating on a portion or
the complete side of a simple part.
This
helps TPE flow into and fill thin walled sections commonly encountered in over-molding.
