ORLANDO – May 6, 2024 – Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable materials solutions and services, is proud to announce the addition of new super tough PA6 and PA66 grades to its Nymax™ REC Recycled Nylon Formulations product line, each containing post-industrial recycled content.
The PA6 grade contains 76% PIR, and the PA66 grade contains 78% PIR content, resulting in up to 81% lower cradle-to-gate product carbon footprint (PCF) than traditional alternatives made without recycled content.

New Edgetek PKE NHFR formulations overcome the drawbacks of PA6 by delivering low moisture uptake, as well as excellent chemical and wear resistance, and high-impact resistance.
Importantly, the production of PK emits up to 61 percent less carbon than the production of PA66, and 46 percent less than PA6.

Compared to glass-filled PA6 & PA66, moisture does very little to affect the physical property change of glass-filled PK.
In each case, the physical property retention of Avient’s PK-based formulations was superior to that of PA6 or PA66.
The glass-filled polyketone samples showed better property retention and lower dimensional change than PA6 and PA66.
