CLEVELAND – June 24, 2021 – Avient today announced the launch of two new grades within its next-generation Barricade™ elastomers product line that expand the durometer range, which now spans from 50 to 90 Shore A. Customizable and colorable, all Barricade elastomers are available globally, including the original 60, 70, and 80 Shore A grades.

These European grades include a blend of both post-industrial (PIR) and post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, and are available in 30A, 50A and 70A Shore hardness levels. The grade contains 30 percent PIR content at 80 Shore A hardness and is compatible with consumer electronics applications such as phone cases.

Measured at 40 GHz, the 65 Shore A grade provides a 2.49 Dk and 0.024 Df, and the 90 Shore A grade shows 2.54 Dk and 0.021 Df. 

Available in two Shore A hardnesses, Versaflex HC grades can also be customized to achieve desired haptic qualities. With a Shore A hardness of 48, Versaflex HC 1348 is slightly softer than Versaflex HC 1365, which has a durometer of 65A and a matte finish.

They can offer the precise level of electrical conductivity required for your application and are available in a range of Shore hardness levels. Hardness range from 40 – 85 Shore A
