Together with Color Inspiration 2018, designers and brand owners can work with InVisiO experts to develop new color palettes or even adapt existing colors to accommodate a new phase in a product’s lifecycle.

PolyOne has developed colorants that are compatible with these specialty engineered materials. This color collection targets colors for vehicles that attract “Flat Agers,” a reference to the fast-growing group of aging-but-fit car buyers who value user friendly vehicles combined with new, sophisticated design. Color is reflective light. Light travels into the color and reflects back to our eye the base and color of the sample we are viewing. Eventually, the color blocks enough light that it appears to be the correct color when viewed by eye.

The colored grades feature BASF’s Ultrason® polyarylethersulfones (PAES) as high-quality base polymer combined with Avient’s Colorant Chromatics™ high-temperature color formulation expertise for color concentrates and pre-colored solutions.  The market requirements for colored, high-performance polymers are clear: you have to react quickly and also be able to supply various volumes of colored material,” says Anne Hippert, general manager, Colorant Chromatics at Avient. The colored grades will be formulated and sold by Avient as Colorant Chromatics™ made with Ultrason® by BASF.
