CLEVELAND – PolyOne Corporation (NYSE: POL), a premier global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, has won the 2014 Best Emerging Maintenance Reliability Program Award from Uptime® Magazine.
PolyOne earned the honor as a result of its internal PolyOne Reliability Program – a three-year global initiative to increase material supply reliability to customers, through improved on-time delivery and increased equipment and asset longevity, while maintaining world-class safety standards.
PolyOne Corporation, with 2013 revenues of $3.8 billion, is a premier provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions.

To integrate them, TPEs enable an overmolding process that places the material directly onto the housing substrate.
TPE gasket materials can provide great compression set properties for a long lasting seal, even at elevated temperatures.
Overmolding these materials on the outside of your device can add impact protection, abrasion resistance, and UV resistance properties depending on the intended use environment of the speaker.

It also needed to have high clarity, which created a significant problem: existing materials provided clarity, but not the necessary stiffness.
They selected a TPE-based impact modifier that could be used at a loading level five percentage points below the current material while still meeting all of the performance requirements, including higher stiffness.
In addition, reducing the tote wall thickness resulted in a savings of about $470,000 a year, based on reduction in material usage and lower unit costs for fuel to transport products to retailers.

Launched in early 2023, Avient’s Gravi-Tech REC recycled formulations are density-modified engineered polymer materials, including recycled content.
This high recycled content supports a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) reduction of >70% compared to technically comparable virgin material¹.
The new Gravi-Tech grade not only advances material science but also contributes to social good,” said Matt Mitchell, Director of Global Marketing, Specialty Engineered Materials at Avient.

DBDPE is a commonly used flame retardant in plastic and rubber materials in many industries, including wire and cable.
That’s why we used our material science expertise to create new options for our wire and cable customers,” said Matt Mitchell, director, global marketing, Specialty Engineered Materials at Avient.
Like other Syncure materials, the DBDPE-free formulations combine a polyethylene graft resin and flame-retardant catalyst to create a cross-linked solution for cable systems.
