NSF certification programs are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI/RAB), The Dutch Council for Accreditation (RvA) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). Typical applications requiring NSF certification are potable water applications, water treatment systems, restaurant services and plumbing. Underwriters Laboratories is an independent, not-for-profit product safety and testing certification organization based in the US.

The HC8920 grades are formulated to meet certification to UL94 5VA at 3.0 mm, V-0 at 1.5 mm, V-1 at 0.75 mm.

Additionally, they meet strict regulatory requirements, passing Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards and certification by TÜV Rheinland.

This can be an issue in cases of claims, but also when labeling textiles for special features like ‘recycled content’ or the certificate of origin (e.g., ‘made in …’).
