They can be injection molded or overmolded onto polypropylene (PP).

Cesa™ Non-PFAS Process Aid for Extrusion: for use in polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) applications, it reduces friction between the polymer and the metal during extrusion comparable to a traditional processing aid but is formulated without fluoropolymers which may be classifiable as per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) and will be presented during Avient’s technical seminar at NPE, “PFAS Alternatives: 2024 and Beyond,” by Sean Bernhardt, Senior Research and Development Manager, Color, Additives, & Inks, Americas at Avient, on May 7 at 3 p.m. and May 8 at 1 p.m.

They are available across multiple polymer systems, including PA6, PA66, PC, POM, PBT, PPS, and PK, and provide comparable performance to conventional internally lubricated grades (link to full press release here).

Polypropylene (PP) carriers are recommended for the harder SEBS formulations. PP carrier is not recommended for softer grades, as the formulation hardness will be affected.

This negatively impacted customer orders, most notably in PPS and Distribution.  Richardson, executive vice president and chief financial officer, PolyOne Corporation, said, "In January and February, we observed significant customer order delays in PPS, POD and DSS as customers worked through on-hand inventories.
