REGULATORY INFORMATION
IMPORTANT NOTE
The above technical and regulatory information is based on the formulation of the current 10 colors in the palette.
https://www.avient.com/gray-matter
Color is reflective light.
Eventually, the color blocks enough light that it appears to be the correct color when viewed by eye.
The unfortunate twist to this solution is that different color ways need custom print parameters to achieve satisfactory results.

MOLD DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS
Gates
• Many different types of gates can be used such as pin, fan, tunnel, tab and edge gates.
Cut vent depths to:
- PC Compounds: 0.001"–0.002" depth and 0.250" width
- PC/PSU Compounds: 0.002"–0.003" depth and 0.250" width
- PES Compounds: 0.003"–0.004" depth and 0.250" width
- PEI Compounds: 0.001"–0.003" depth and 0.250" width
- PP Compounds: 0.001"–0.002" depth and 0.250" width
- ABS Compounds: 0.0015"–0.0025" depth and 0.250" width
- PEEK Compounds: 0.002"–0.004" depth and 0.250" width
- Nylon Compounds: 0.002" min. depth and 0.250" width
• Increase vent depth to 0.040" (1.0mm) at 0.250" (4.0mm) away from the cavity
and vent to atmosphere.

ColorMatrix™ Optica™
Specialty Toners for PC
Polycarbonate is used for the production of
automotive interiors and appliances to consumer
goods and electronics, replacing more traditional
materials such as glass and acrylic.
The
need for better PC color solutions has never been
greater.
ColorMatrix™ Optica™ Specialty Toners for PC is the
cutting-edge liquid toner for polycarbonate resins
that provides visual clarity for PC and improves
aesthetics on the product surface.

The coloration and processing of
recycled polymers can be challenging due to the
quality difference between batches of recycled
materials and the potential loss of mechanical
stability.
Cesa™ Flame Retardant Additives enable a
fire performance in line with different levels
of Glow Wire temperatures (IEC 60685-2-12)
for various recycled resins including PP, PC,
and PS.
